The pearl gourami is a hardy and attractive choice for your centerpiece fish. They grow to about 4.5″ and need at least a 20-gallon tank. Just like bettas (their distant cousins) they build bubble nests and have a labyrinth organ. They’re tropical omnivorous fish, and are known to occasionally vocalize, making growling or croaking noises!
